About the Position:

The Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Ledger Accountant to support the general accounting operations, reporting and audits for Voyager and certain of its subsidiaries. Working under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgement, the General Ledger Accountant prepares financial information and reports, supports the weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, performs intercompany transactions and account reconciliations, and ensures the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.

Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Coordinate and oversee assigned accounting processes Voyager and certain of its subsidiaries
  • Analyze financial data and extract relevant information
  • Assist with identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives for Voyager’s subsidiaries
  • Coordination with business operations for accurate accounting and changes in the business
  • Support the external audit of the company’s quarterly and annual financial statements, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor questions and requests

 

General Ledger / Month-End:

  • Perform General Ledger accounting duties including analyzing and assuring the accuracy of general ledger account activities, and preparing journal entries on a regular basis
  • Obtain an understanding of established internal controls and accounting policies and procedures and effectively improve, maintain and enforce such controls, policies and procedures
  • Support month-end close procedures, including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and analyses of results
  • Areas of responsibility will primarily or could include cash, accounts payable, credit cards, prepaid expenses and other assets, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, billings, accruals, and coding of expenses

 

Financial Reporting:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes to increase timeliness, efficiency and improve the accuracy of financial reporting
  • Assist with running standard and ad-hoc reports along with developing new accounting templates

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of related accounting experience to reflect skills and talent necessary for this role preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience with general ledger accounting in a public company environment
  • Strong accounting background with thorough knowledge of current U.S. GAAP required
  • Ability to work proficiently within Excel
  • Prior experience supporting, mergers and acquisitions process or other financial transactions is a plus
  • Experience with ERP Systems, such as NetSuite, is a plus
  • Industry (Space, Engineering, Construction) knowledge is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with reconciliation tools, such as FloQast, is a plus

 

Salary Range:  $60,000 – $75,000

 

ITAR Requirement:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
