Basic Function:

Under supervision, perform engineering and testing assignments with clear and specified objectives and involves conventional types of plans and specifications. Apply sound engineering judgment. Perform as a technical contributor on projects. Interface with engineering peers, senior engineers, and program managers to receive tasks. Work within a team to promptly complete tasks. Communicate effectively to accomplish assignments and support others in accomplishing
their assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical component design for rocket propulsion systems using CAD models
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Conduct structural and thermal FEA on rocket motor components
  • Prepare engineering drawings
  • Participate in hardware assembly and testing activities
  • Participate in customer meetings and reviews
  • Other related job duties, as assigned.

 

Experience:

Required: Any general engineering work experience is preferred.

 

Education:

Required: Bachelor of Science required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university.

 

Skills:

  •  Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Working knowledge of CAD software
  • Understanding of finite element analysis
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Works well in a team atmosphere
  • Willingness to seek-out and assume increasing responsibilities as workload changes
  • Aptitude for working with mechanical and electrical systems

 

Other:

  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time
